SIMILE AND METAPHOR

A simile is a figure of speech that compares two different things, using "like" or "as". For example the sky is blue like the ocean. You compared the color of the sky to the color of the ocean. I think similes are important part of writing because it shows more details or imagination in writing.

For example, if its cold , and i say " its a igloo in here." I think metaphors are important part of writing because its almost the same as simile but you are using imagination. However, not literally.

Tone: The tone of this song is flirty, and happy. I say this is flirty and happy because this is a song about a guy that she likes alot, which basically this guy means alot to her.

Meaning: what i think this song means is that she really fell for this guy and really likes him, and its just basically letting him know  

Dr.King

Many years have passed, throughout our journey to the promise land, yet has the strive and handwork paid off? Dr. King exclaimed the day before he got assassinated "I may not get there with you, But i want you to know tonight that we as people will get to the promise land."  I believe Dr.King felt like something was going to happen to him, and he wanted to let us know that he has seen his promise land , and that one day, we WILL get there. If Dr.king was to walk in my class tomorrow,  I think Dr. king will be both happy and disappointing.

Dr. Martin Luther king Jr. was a baptist minister and a civil rights activist. Dr. King believed in equality and freedom rights. He made a large impact in America , and worldwide. Dr. king was a young and skillful man. On the night that Rosa Parks was arrested, E.D. Nixon, head of the local NAACP chapter met with Martin Luther King Jr. and other local civil rights leaders to plan a citywide bus boycott. King was chosen to be the leader of the boycott.The bus boycott was 382 days of walking to work, harassment, violence and intimidation for the Montgomery's African-American society. During this time, both King and E.D Nixon's homes got bombed. After a period of time, the city of Montgomery lifted the law of segregated public transportation. Dr. King would receive many threats, but he standed strong and continued to speak wherever there was a need to.

I say Dr. King would be happy because thanks to him and all the freedom leaders , we have reached the promise land, as he wished too. We reached it, and now are living it . He wanted everyone together from every race, ethnicity, color, religion, gender, etc. He wanted everyone to be equal. Which is what we have now! Now blacks, whites, ,hispanics, asians, etc go to the same schools, bathrooms, and library's. Now we are a symbol of Unity, which is why we are also The United States Of America. Thanks to Dr. King we don't have any difference with white people. If he was to walk in my classroom tomorrow he would be happy to see us all together getting a equal education as everybody. Which was what he wished for. 

However, I believe that Dr. King would also be very dissapointed in us. Why i say this is because, people now a days especially those of color or other race then white, which he fought for, take his accomplishment and hard work for granted. Now a days young men "sag" there pants, which use to be a symbol of men who were in prison. Or how there is music that makes absolutely no sense and uses so much vulgarity. Dr.King fought for our rights and freedom so we can make a good example and achievement of it. He wanted us to grow up in a clean, well educated society. But, if he was to see what some people do, he would just be very hurt. He fought all the way to see us where we are at, including putting everything he                                                   had, at risk. His house was bombed, days and nights having to fear if someone would do something to his famil. But yet, he still fought for us , he even got killed. Which i believe should be a representation why we should honor him so much more. Not just on his day in january, but by respecting our rights, and do what he wished us to do. To be people of honor, leaders, and all for the good.

Hyperbole !!!

Hyperbole is just another word for exaggeration, stretching the truth out, or being too dramatic. For example, if you tripped someone lightly , and barely stumbled and they say "i could of broke my neck!" That was hyperbole. That person barely stumbled and exaggerated by saying he/she could have broke their neck.  I think hyperbole is important part to writing because it shows more of a n depth expression and feeling. It also gives a lot of attention to it. Its not just boring and plain, its however, funny at times , and grabs the attention of someone.

TONE; The tone of this poem/song is very sad and unhappy. She seemed to be very sorrow and hurt throughout this song. MOOD; Its a very sad and depressing feel towards this song. My mood just happens to go down a bit, when i listen to this song. This song is basically about a break-up that hurt her a lot ,and for some could relate with her feelings.MEANING: I think what this song means is that, she had a special person, who unfortunately broke apart from her. She really had a lot of love toward this person, but she ended up getting really hurt and played out.
